You are an example of courage and peace. You embody the principle that we are able,if we are willing, to practice peace, wherever we go. thanks for the very simple , yet very strong message.

Your emails and blog prompts always find me at the exact right moment. I am usually sitting at my computer in fear looking for my next job, worrying about money and mad at myself for not meditating enough so that I don't feel this way. Then I read your blogs. Each time a calm washes over me and I just get up and resume my meditation practices. Thanks so much for the gentle reminder and it's nice to feel that I am not alone.

Thank you. I felt that sooner or later I would hear about your journey with all this. The loss is so huge and sad. It's a teacher I guess. I also stay in touch with Seigan on Fb. We are so fortunate. People with enough sitting under them can have the stability and confidence to go on alone if need be. But as you say - find a sangha - good advice.

This sounds like a great read -- I love the idea of a murder in a monastery -- unique, compelling location -- with plenty of interesting possibilities -- is it monk in the garden? or the cook in the tenzo? And I think the title is terrific --

Murder mysteries are the best (I enjoyed every single one of Margaret Truman's, which all had settings where I grew up). Lately I get down to the fishing piers a couple times a week for quiet time...when I get home I write a short e-mail to a friend about "imaginary" visitors I run into there, always including the early news of the day. Now I realize I should've kept copies and compiled a "Notebook of Conspiracies" (or whatever!) Keep up the good work....

Second Cycle of 30 of 30 Zazen
Day 6 of 30 July 13th

sat for 30 min. this evening.
i have to say it was pretty amazing.
i was really just with my breath, not too much
thinking or movies going on. when the thoughts would start
to enter my mind i was able to get myself back to just breathing.
the evening light of the sunset shining into my room was beautiful.
i felt so much gratitude, don't know why, i just did.
tonight's meditation was very enjoyable.
